History

Cochabamba Cooperative School Calvert (CCS), founded in 1954 by Eleanor Pol, is the first bilingual school in Cochabamba. In the early 1960s, several North American oil companies arrived in Bolivia and the American families wanted continuity for their children based on the all-American- English school for their children. The innovative teaching method of long-distance/correspondence schooling aroused the interest of other Cochabambian families who also wanted Calvert’s new way of teaching. Calvert has become one of the most important educational-cultural centers in the city.
